Performers and audience members alike share the feeling of walking on water, of existing in an impossible space. The developments on both sides of the Spree – Holzmarkt and Spreefeld – were both designed to evoke the scale of the village. The tower in this project, which contains lighting and a projection screen, also serves as visual communication and a transformative space. After passing through the ticketing area, audience members receive wireless headphones, rubber boots and stools. Once past the curtain the audience steps onto the stage to transform the river into a theater. From this vantage point it is possible to view both sides of the Spree in a new way.
